Wendy Banks is a proud, 6th generation farmer from Lyndhurst, Ontario.
She has always held a strong interest in agriculture and a number of years ago, after talking with some local producers, Wendy felt the need to help connect farmers, consumers and restaurants in a healthier food system. Together with her husband Rick and she started Wendy’s Country Market (our on-farm store), and Wendy’s Mobile Market (a commercial delivery service).
Wendy’s Country Market, is located in a 19th century heritage school house on Wendy's parents’ farm, and provides a full country experience complete with animals, pick your own herbs, a seasonal greenhouse and children’s play area. We proudly sell an ever expanding list of our own vegetables, along with an abundance of produce grown by my parents on their farm, Corn Acre Farms, and food from over 70 local producers. We are open year-round.
Be sure to join us once a month in the summer at one of our events, where we host an old fashioned festival with area producers, artisans, bakers and musicians. We also have on-site farm-fresh meals-to-go, so you can enjoy a local flavours picnic on site or at one of the many area lakesides.
We give the producers we work with another avenue to market their products. Since we are open all year, area producers are able to expand their growing season because they are no longer limited to seasonal farmers markets or local farm traffic.
Wendy's Mobile Market delivers to restaurants, B & Bs, independent local food grocers and delis, and individuals in an area from Napanee to Kemptville.
We feel that supporting local producers will help ensure the future of a secure food system, and sustain our local communities for generations to come.
Thanks for your support,
Wendy Banks & Rick Trudeau
